Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 3 July 2026

These Terms govern your access to and use of the Zitch bill-payment and virtual top-up (VTU) platform. Please read them carefully — by creating an account or using Zitch, you agree to them.

01 About these Terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you ("you", "the user") and Zitch Technologies Ltd, a company registered in Nigeria (RC 6920451) with its office at 10 Alh Jamiu Balogun, Ketu-Ikosi, Lagos ("Zitch", "we", "us", "our"). They apply to your use of the Zitch mobile app, website and related services (together, the "Platform").

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Platform. Your continued use means you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement.

Zitch is a bill-payment and VTU service — not a bank. We help you buy airtime, data and PINs and pay bills. We do not take deposits, pay interest, or provide banking, lending or investment services.

02 Definitions

  • "Wallet" — the prepaid balance you hold on the Platform, used only to purchase the services we offer.
  • "Services" — airtime, mobile data, recharge-card PINs, cable/TV subscriptions, electricity payments, internet subscriptions, exam PINs, betting-wallet funding and other bill payments made available on the Platform.
  • "Biller" — a third-party provider (e.g. a mobile network, electricity distribution company or pay-TV operator) whose value or service you purchase through Zitch.
  • "Payment Partner" — a licensed payment processor we use to accept wallet funding.
  • "Transaction PIN" — the secret code you set to authorise payments.

03 Eligibility

To use Zitch you must:

  • be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract;
  • be resident in, or transacting for services within, Nigeria;
  • provide accurate, current and complete information when registering; and
  • use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in line with these Terms.

We may ask you to verify your identity to comply with applicable law. You are responsible for keeping your details up to date.

04 Your account

You need an account to use most Services. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account, and for keeping your login details and Transaction PIN confidential.

  • Keep one account per person; do not share, sell or transfer your account.
  • Never disclose your PIN, one-time passwords (OTPs) or password to anyone — Zitch staff will never ask for them.
  • Tell us immediately at support@zitch.ng if you suspect unauthorised access.

We may refuse, suspend or close an account that provides false information, or that we reasonably believe is being used for fraud or other prohibited activity.

05 Our services

Through the Platform you can, subject to availability:

  • buy airtime and mobile data on MTN, Airtel, Glo and 9mobile;
  • generate recharge-card PINs and printable vouchers, including bulk purchases for resellers;
  • renew cable/TV subscriptions (DStv, GOtv, StarTimes and similar);
  • pay electricity bills and buy prepaid tokens from distribution companies;
  • pay for internet and broadband subscriptions;
  • buy exam PINs (such as WAEC, JAMB and NECO); and
  • fund supported betting wallets.

Available Services, Billers and limits may change from time to time. We do not guarantee that any particular Biller or Service will always be available.

06 Wallet & funding

Your Wallet is a prepaid balance that exists only to let you buy the Services above. It is not a bank account, does not earn interest, and is not covered by any deposit-insurance scheme.

  • You can fund your Wallet by bank transfer, debit card or USSD through our Payment Partners.
  • Funding is credited once we receive confirmation from the Payment Partner.
  • We may set minimum and maximum funding and transaction limits, and may hold or review a transaction we consider unusual or high-risk.

07 Transactions & delivery

You authorise each payment with your Transaction PIN. Once authorised, most Services are delivered instantly or within a few minutes.

Please check your details carefully. You are responsible for entering the correct phone number, meter number, smartcard number, IUC, biller and amount. Value delivered to a correct-but-unintended recipient because of your input error cannot always be recovered.

Where a Biller's system is slow or offline, delivery may be delayed. If value is not delivered, see Refunds & reversals below.

08 Fees, pricing & cashback

Opening and keeping a Wallet is free, and there are no monthly subscription fees. You pay only for the value you buy, plus any service or convenience fee shown to you before you confirm a transaction.

  • Cashback and discounts (for example on airtime and data) are promotional, may change, and may be withdrawn at any time.
  • Prices for third-party value (airtime, tokens, subscriptions, PINs) are set by the Billers and can change without notice.
  • Reseller and bulk rates, where offered, are subject to separate terms we may provide to you.

09 Refunds & reversals

If a transaction fails after your Wallet is debited and no value is delivered, we will automatically reverse the amount to your Wallet, usually within minutes.

  • If an auto-reversal has not appeared within 24 hours, contact support@zitch.ng with your transaction reference and we will investigate.
  • Successfully delivered value (e.g. airtime sent, a token generated, a subscription activated) is generally not refundable, including where you entered incorrect details.
  • Disputes should be raised within 30 days of the transaction. We may need to confirm the outcome with the relevant Biller or Payment Partner before resolving a claim.

10 Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Platform to:

  • commit fraud, launder money, finance terrorism, or handle proceeds of crime;
  • use stolen, unauthorised or another person's payment instrument;
  • resell Services except where we expressly allow it;
  • abuse promotions, exploit pricing errors, or use bots to game the Platform;
  • attempt to hack, disrupt, reverse-engineer or overload our systems; or
  • breach any applicable law or any Biller's or Payment Partner's rules.

We may report suspected criminal activity to the relevant authorities and cooperate with investigations.

11 Third-party billers

Zitch acts as an intermediary that passes your instruction and payment to the relevant Biller. The underlying service (network coverage, electricity supply, TV programming, exam registration, etc.) is provided by that third party and governed by their own terms.

We are not responsible for a Biller's downtime, service quality, pricing, or refusal to deliver, except to the extent we are required by law. Where value is not delivered because of a Biller failure, our responsibility is limited to reversing the affected amount to your Wallet.

12 Intellectual property

The Zitch name, logo, app, website, designs and content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may use the Platform for its intended purpose but may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from it without our written permission. Biller names and logos are the property of their respective owners and are used only to identify the Services available.

13 Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We work hard to keep it running smoothly but do not guarantee it will always be uninterrupted, error-free or secure.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zitch is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for loss caused by a Biller, Payment Partner, network or event beyond our reasonable control. Our total liability for any claim relating to a transaction is limited to the value of that transaction.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Nigerian law.

14 Suspension & termination

You may stop using Zitch at any time and ask us to close your account. We may suspend or terminate your access — with notice where practicable — if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Platform, other users or third parties. On closure, any legitimate remaining Wallet balance will be returned to you through a verified method, subject to any lawful holds.

15 Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Platform after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

16 Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We would like to resolve any concern directly first, so please contact us. If a dispute cannot be resolved amicably, it will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.
